This study includes a nationally representative quantitative survey and qualitative in-depth interviews with households and health professionals. The survey fills a gap in national statistics in the Philippines, but it is also a unique survey globally. The objective of the study is to quantify as much as possible the extra monetary costs faced by households with children with disabilities and define such extra costs in relation to achieved living standards compared with other households with children.
