Humanitarian protection
Safeguarding the rights of those affected by conflict and disasters, including people with disabilities, is at the core of humanitarian protection. Australia supports humanitarian protection efforts that prioritise the needs of people with disabilities, ensuring their access to safe spaces, legal aid, and psychosocial support. Incorporating disability inclusion into humanitarian protection processes and services, assists in preventing and responding to human rights violations against people with disabilities.
Resources in this section provide evidence and guidance to progress disability inclusion in humanitarian protection efforts.
