This series of essays examine key issues that need to be addressed if we are to see the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) achieved for people with disabilities by 2030. Despite initial optimism, progress toward achieving these global commitments made in 2015 to end poverty and ensure no one is left behind by 2030, has been slow. Challenges to progress has been compounded by the COVID-19 pandemic, rising inequality, and climate challenges, all of which disproportionately affecting people with disabilities. Throughout these essays experts highlight the issues that must be focused on achieve SDGs and rights for people with disability by 2030. These call for recalibration, equity-focused approaches that addresses root causes of exclusion for people with disabilities, supercharge efforts, and embraces intersectionality to meet the aspirations of the 2030 Agenda.
